How Odd$mith currently builds picks, generated predictions, betting tools, and the editorial layer around them.
Odd$mith is not a sportsbook and does not promise guaranteed profits. It is an AI-assisted betting desk that combines sportsbook odds, market filtering, reporting context, and editorial workflow rules to produce betting content that is meant to be useful, readable, and current. In other words, the goal is a sharper process, not a magical one.
Built with OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, AskNews, The Odds API, Django, OpenClaw, Stripe, and a Raspberry Pi.
What Odd$mith uses right now
Odd$mith works more like a layered desk than a single model spitting out hot takes. Data comes in, filters apply, context gets added, and then content is shaped into something a human can read without filing a complaint.
- Sportsbook odds and market data to find available moneylines, spreads, totals, and event context.
- Reporting/news context to add current injuries, lineup notes, momentum, and storyline awareness.
- League-specific market preferences so different sports can favor different bet types and price ranges.
- Skip rules and price filters to avoid forcing obviously weak or overly expensive featured bets.
- Human/staff review in key parts of the workflow, especially for publishing and hand-picked content packaging.
How official picks differ from generated predictions
Picks are the bet objects shown on Best Bets and related event pages. Generated predictions are editorial-style articles and videos that explain a selected bet or matchup.
- Some generated predictions start from an event and let the system choose the featured market.
- Some generated predictions now start from a specific existing pick so the article, card, and video all point to the same bet.
- Generated content is AI-assisted, but it still follows workflow rules, market filters, and staff controls.
League-aware rules
Odd$mith does not treat every league exactly the same. Current examples include:
- MLB can lean more heavily on totals and current pitching/weather context.
- NBA gives more weight to injury, rest, lineup, and rotation freshness.
- NHL is treated more selectively because overconfidence gets punished quickly.
- Soccer coverage is more selective and more storyline-driven.
- Tournament sports like tennis are treated as a separate lane and are currently more manual/editorial-first.
What Odd$mith is not doing
- It is not promising that AI can predict every game correctly.
- It is not claiming a secret guaranteed-profitable model, because those usually turn out to be either marketing or folklore.
- It is not treating short winning or losing stretches as proof of permanent edge.
- It is not applying one universal pick formula to every league.
Current limitations
- Sports are noisy and short samples can mislead.
- Data freshness matters; stale news or missing feeds can weaken the output.
- Some leagues and tournament sports are still being tuned for reliability and consistency.
- Performance reporting is improving, but not every content lane has the same maturity yet.
How to use Odd$mith responsibly
